Deb Crowe Schlosser Beats Cancer

Deep thoughts with Deb Crowe

SJS X 2

Well, the last week has been interesting. On Tuesday morning, I was admitted to the ER at MD Anderson and was just released from the hospital yesterday afternoon. I had developed a nasty infection in the drain sites and also had a Chyle leak. I’ve been on strong IV antibiotics. They also inserted a 2nd drain which has taken on the work. The first one was removed yesterday & this alone has alleviated a ton of the pain I’ve been in. It still smarts pretty good but man, what a difference.

While in the hospital, they had me on super strong pain meds too. I no likey. They gave me crazy dreams, one in which crazy tourists were chasing me down with a bazooka that shoots confetti & whipped cream. When I saw that they were turning the bus around that they were riding in to hit me again, I literally tried to run out of my hospital bed before I woke up. Not fun & didn’t help the pain.

Stacy sprung me from the hospital yesterday and I am back in her very comfy guest room. Last night, I gave myself a shower & I slept SO well, waking myself up for the pain meds at 2AM. The only dream I had was Angelina Jolie showing me her spring dresses. I’m still pretty weak but Stacy is helping me with my food & excellent smoothies. Because of the Chyle leak, I have to eat a 0-fat diet for at least a week. No butter, no cookies, no salmon. But Stacy’s cooking makes up for anything that is lacking.

SJS stands for Steven James Schlosser & Stacy Jean Simonson, the 2 folks who are really carrying the load for me. I am without words for my gratitude to these 2 stellar humans. If you see them, please give them the props & love they deserve. They are super-humans, truly.

Steve flew home yesterday & is back under Peanut’s watchful eye. I’ll be taking tiny baby steps under Stacy’s watchful eye. Nobody expected this set-back, but here we are hopefully on the other side of it. I’ll continue to receive any prayers & meditations that you’ve got while I get over this part. I don’t think I’ll be taking that break & going back to the VI – I’m thinking it would be better to stay here where the medical options are hugely better than what we’ve got back home, just in case.

I’ve got it good, thanks to you all. Much love.

Miss Okra, I’m happy you’re on the mend from the infection.

I’m think your bazooka filled with confetti and whipped cream is stopping those pesky little germs in their tracks!

A million thanks to team SJS for taking such amazing care of you.

Sending you so many hugs and big love from Steamboat!

Deb you stay in our thoughts and prayers πŸ™. We are so happy to hear you are on the mend again and getting such wonderful care. I am sure Peanut is happy to have his daddy back home, is Steve going to be able to come back anytime soon? I wish I could come there and take care of Peanut for you but unfortunately that is not feasible at this time. Keep getting stronger and before you know it, you will be back home playing in your gardens! Love and hugs to you both and tell Steve to rub Peanut’s head for me ❀️
