Deb Crowe Schlosser Beats Cancer

Deep thoughts with Deb Crowe

Carol Brady vs. Shirley Partridge

I’m referring to their hair. I had been sporting something more closely resembling Mrs. Brady’s ‘do. It was getting unruly. Even if I’ve only got hair for another few weeks, I thought a change was a good idea.

Now I more resemble Mrs. Partridge. I can almost make it into a faux-hawk (Crowe-hawk) for fun. Might try that later. Expect a photo.

Also got some potentially good news after such a rough week last week. My oncotype score is 20 and the RX Ponder is only 5%. That should mean that I only have a 5% chance of this re-occurring within 5 years. I’d been wondering about this. The tiny bit of digging/Googling/ChatGPT’ing I’ve been doing didn’t give such an outlook. I’ll take this as a HUGE win on a Monday morning!

I only began to feel really normal on Saturday. Good friend Brenda brought me my favorite Mex food on Friday & I thought I was gonna be good, but I got cute & tried to do a Sally O’Malley kick to show how happy I was that threw my low back into what seemed like hysterics. Seems stuff like this really raises my heart rate. Couldn’t get to sleep Friday night until after I had to wake poor Steve. No more trying to be cute for a while. My Crowe-hawk will have to do.

As of Saturday, I was so happy to feel as close to normal as I’ve felt in what seems like forever. Yesterday Steve & I walked the Magens Bay beach – so grateful that I had the energy to make it both ways & then still go for our weekly shopping run. My house is clean, my laundry is done & I’ve been able to eat real food & keep it down. As of today, I’m sitting in my home office FINALLY truly catching up on work. Small victories that seem HUGE.

Round 2 of the Red Devil chemo is this Thursday. My chemo doc says it should be easier this time. Here’s a round of high-fives to you all. Throw in a big group hug too. Keep those prayers/meditations going for me – seems like they are working really really well!!!!!!!

It’s surreal how the smallest things can pull the rug out or make us soar with hope and happiness. I love the Crowe-Hawk, your beach time and the world feels bright.❤️

Fantastic news on SO many fronts. Sorry about the low back, though. I hope that’s resolved. Maybe better to stick to the patented Deb Crowe Happy Dance? Post us a photo of the Crowe-Hawk! Love you, Wondertwin ❤️

Hi Love, I am getting my hair cut very soon, should we go “twin’s”? So excited to hear on the feeling better. I am sorry to hear about your back, but I know how you like to practice for “Dance Offs” (LOL)… missing you all!
