Literally. The coki frogs are still singing up a storm from all the recent rain. Bugs are chirping. The normal night noise here on the northside of St Thomas.

All that rain has caused quite a crop of gold passion fruit growing on a net suspended over what I call my tiny jungle garden – I have truly counted more than 100 of them. My bird of paradise plants tower over me & stand next to a pair of papaya trees, spiraling ginger and a very happy baby moringa tree. My night-blooming jasmine is indeed blooming. Underneath those blooms, a wild jungle chicken has laid 12 tiny eggs. An orchid I named Julie is fixing to bloom a huge arm of leopard spotted flowers.

And then there’s my deck garden. We’ve been enjoying kale, arugula, chard & lettuces for dinner. When I get back from Houston in a couple of weeks, we should have plentiful tomatoes & peppers, maybe even beans. And I’ve got more orchids & other colorful flora perched out there. I have never had my plant friends so healthy & prosperous before. I’ve been really digging (sometimes literally) this year of 2025.

I’m so happy with everything in my life. Seriously. I hope I’m not bragging but between doing life with Steve Schlosser, working on my own terms with awesome clients & the aforementioned tiny jungle gardens, well, I know I’ve got it pretty good. And I am grateful.

I also have cancer. It’s bigger & gonna take longer than I thought it was.
And like Michael Jackson, I mean to beat it. This blog is going to be how I choose to communicate to those who want to follow & also remember all of this stuff I need to process in this “Journey”, hence the profile pic:

Don’t STOP believin’! Sung by the incomparable Steve Perry.
(If you don’t get these important musical references, you didn’t live in the 80’s & 90’s. Fair warning – there will be many more to come)

So welcome indeed to my jungle. And with that I bid you good night.
