Deb Crowe Schlosser Beats Cancer

Deep thoughts with Deb Crowe

It’s been a minute…

Well, hello. It’s been a couple of weeks of really nothing new to report – just the regular groove of waking around 6:30AM, drinking sencha, working in my lovely little home office & generally doing well with the effects of that last dose of Red Devil. The horrible taste in my mouth has subsided to a manageable level. And except for a daily energy hiccup, I’m sleeping well & getting through the days pretty easily. Supposed to start the next chemo called Taxol later this week. We’ll see how I do on this, but I’m ready with cold mitts for both my hands & feet to help with the potential neuropathy.

We’ll head to Houston a week from Wednesday. I have 8 doctors appointments spread out over 4 days while there. We’ve got a plush hotel ready to receive us in downtown Houston plus another while we are in north Houston for 1 night & will end the trip by staying at Casa de Crowe/Simonson before heading home. Not planning on venturing out into the crowds other than MD Anderson & dinner at Chez Nous. Maybe just one movie in a theatre where we can pre-book an early showing? Sounds about enough to me.

The photo above is of my newly created “good health vision board” & it is comprised of what y’all have kindly sent me. It’s just next to my computer monitor, so easily in my line-of-sight & is an easy boost of love & encouragement that I treasure. Thank you all for sending me so much love in so many ways. Seriously good medicine for my heart. Here’s a group hug

Though I would catch you here to give you good new about Cid. Hope this finds you good. I love you. Jean

From Cid: My ALIF (anterior lumbar interbody fusion) surgery was 4 hours & went well yesterday. I got released about 12:30 today and am spending my first night in my studio apt in a very nice senior care facility in Roswell GA. I will be wearing a back brace full time for 3 months. I have my HamFam in Roswell and such wonderful support from my StJ family. I am such a lucky girl!
